Freelance Costume Supervisor

Palace Theatre, Southend

The Palace Theatre is seeking an experienced person for a two week period during July and August 2015 to source and fit costumes for our Summer Youth Project.

This is an exciting career development opportunity for an individual with previous costume experience to work creatively alongside a highly experienced and professional production team.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with excellent organisation, communication and problem solving skills. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to work calmly in a pressurised environment, both independently and as part of a team. Experience working within or leading a wardrobe department is essential, as is demonstrable experience of working with children and young people. The post requires regular travel and transportation of costumes, materials and props, therefore a car user is essential. The post also requires DBS clearance.

The successful candidate will be paid a fee of £900, inclusive of all associated travel and ancillary expenditure incurred whilst carrying out the role.

We are looking to appoint a highly organised and motivated individual, to take on the leadership and smooth running of the Technical Department. The successful applicant should possess good communication skills and have a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

In addition they will be able to manage the technical team and effectively build the team’s performance to ensure business and departmental objectives are efficiently achieved.
